Main Street

Main Street in the Mississauga city centre is passing through the revitalization phase. City government authority of Mississauga plans to do beneficial developments to the place so that it would become the “beating heart” of downtown.

A light rail transit line is also included in the new master development plan to be constructed at the main and Hurontario Street. In order to position downtown Mississauga so that it becomes economically competitive as compared to Southern Ontario, the LRT and creation of Main Street will result in a quality place. The Light Rail Transit will start from the Brampton GO Station and would also loop around the Mississauga City Centre area. This LRT ill connect its passengers to GO trains of Brampton, Wellington street and George Street and would further allow traffic to continue along Hurontario and to end on Elizabeth Street.

The Main Street will host various restaurants, pubs, farmer markets and slow moving traffic which is geared for people then cars.
